- The Canadian economy will perform better in 2017 than in 2016 as the federal government rolls out its infrastructure spending program and trade prospects improve.
- The economic outlook over the near term will improve for a number of provinces but the road to recovery will not be easy.
- The price for oil may be stabilizing and some metal and non-metal minerals have seen price increases but no swift pickup in capital spending to develop new projects is forecast.
- With the exception of Newfoundland and Labrador, all provinces will see their economy expand next year.
