Canada’s tourism industry struggled through much of last year, as activity suffered from sagging consumer confidence and heightened concerns about employment and financial debt. The less-than-stellar performance can be seen in most modes of transportation, but air travel—which had to grapple not only with the weight of government austerity measures, but also with weakness in the number of conventions being held in cities across Canada—was hit particularly hard.

The Conference Board, Inc. and its licensees, which are not affiliated with Signal49 Research, own all right, title and interest in THE CONFERENCE BOARD name and trademarks in Canada and have the exclusive right to their use in Canada since January 26, 2026.
